You know what really grinds my gears?
People that tell me how old their kid is in months. I don't need, "He's 25 months." For the love of God, just say, "He's 2."I declare at this very moment that I will never refer to my kid's age in months. Even if it means that I'm answering, "She's .33333333 years old."
And that, folks, is what really grinds my gears.

I'd say for a kid under 1 year, months are the appropriate unit. Calling it 0 doesn't provide much information, and decimals are cumbersome. After 1, half-year gradations do the trick.
